A Magic Link is a secure method that circumvents the need for candidates to create a password when signing up for an event and allows them to be authenticated and continue with their event registration when accessing a signup form. This simpler login method can translate to better, improved conversions. You may enable passwordless login with Magic Links on a per-event basis.
Using Magic Links
A candidate signing up for a Brazen event through a Magic Links-enabled vendor is required to submit their First Name, Last Name, Email Address, and optionally a Phone Number. If they choose to add a phone number, they can opt into receiving SMS messages that include Magic Links.
After someone submits the signup form, Brazen’s API provisions the user and sends an email (as well as an SMS if they opted in) containing the Magic Link URL (embedded in the Register button), and enables authentication directly through the link.
|A candidate is only considered a 'Signup' for the event using this Magic Link, and will still need to complete the event's Registration Form to be considered 'Registered.'|
In order to complete registration, the candidate must click the Register button in the email or SMS, which authenticates and navigates them seamlessly to the event's Registration Form, bypassing the Brazen event Landing Page. They will not need to confirm their email address as others that sign up using the Landing Page.
A Magic Link is for one-time use and is only available for 24 hours. If a candidate attempts to use the expired link, they are redirected to a page to request a new Magic Link.
When the candidate is successfully authenticated and registered for the event, Magic Links are embedded into event reminders and other important emails or SMS messages they receive.
Candidates who use Magic Links may still elect to set up a Brazen password or use one of the provided single sign-on (SSO) methods on an event Landing Page if they wish.
Enable Passwordless Login for Your Events
If you are interested in using Passwordless login, please ask your Account Manager to enable it for your account.
Once available, you can enable Passwordless login on a per-event basis. To enable it, while building your event, under Settings, select Login Options, click the checkbox, and save.
