Brazen Accessibility Guide

We are committed to ensuring that your events and other Brazen features are accessible to as many people as possible, including those who are hard of hearing or have visual impairment.

Chat in Brazen

Brazen chats can be fully conducted as text-only chats inside:

Text Chat booths
Text, Video & Audio Chat booths
Open Networking Text Chat booths
Open Networking with Text, Video & Audio Chat booths
Scheduled Chats

If a Representative requests a video and/or audio chat with an attendee, the attendee can decline the invitation and continue their chat using text, or connect with representatives using an ASL interpreter in a video chat. Download our Brazen Events Guide: Attend with an ASL Interpreter.

Please note that Group Video booths do not support text-based chat at this time.

Live Video Broadcasts & Presentations in Group Video Sessions

While Brazen does not generate captions during a Live Video Broadcast or during a Group Video session presentation, you can leverage features within Microsoft Powerpoint or Google Slides to add real-time closed captions to your presentation or encourage your viewers to use Google Chrome's Live Caption tool. Event Lobby & BrazenBot

The Event Lobby navigation menu background color, as well as the accent color used for buttons, radio buttons, and checkboxes, are fully customizable. Administrators can adjust colors as needed to maximize contrast in order to accommodate individuals with color vision deficiency.

The Career Site and Job Req BrazenBot plugin background and accent colors are also customizable.

Screen Readers & Keyboard Navigation

Brazen supports the use of both screen readers (specifically JAWS) and keyboard navigation for many of our features.

Screen readers and keyboard navigation are supported for the following core features:

Event Landing Screens
Login
Reset Password Sequence
Registration and Registration Confirmation
Welcome Slides
Event Lobby
One-on-One Chat
Greeting
Reading/writing of emojis in chat messages
Chat Rating
Error Screens
User Home

Brazen features created after 2017 are not supported by screen readers or keyboard navigation.

There are many possible combinations of operating systems, browsers, and screen readers that affect accessibility performance, so we have strived to accommodate the most common configurations.

Please note that dropdown menus are inherently not fully keyboard accessible. We recommend that you replace them with checkbox fields for Event Registration Forms, where you expect attendees to require keyboard access.
